Tune into WGBK 88-point-five F-M today, Friday, April 9th, to hear your Titan Football team take on the Maine South Hawks in this year’s homecoming game.

 

Attention Seniors- Prom is Saturday, May 15th at Pinstripes in Northbrook. Tickets go on sale next Monday, April 12th through Thursday, April 22nd.   Tickets are available in the Bookstore or on Efunds. Check your emails for more details!

 

Class Board Elections are next week!  If you are interested in being President, Vice President, or Representative of your class, be sure to read this document and fill out the Google form no later than today, Friday, April 9th @ 3:30pm.

 

Distinguished Teacher nominations close next Monday, April 12th at 4:00pm.  Be sure to nominate your favorite teacher!  The link to the nomination form can be found in the email sent to your school email address on March 30th.  Thanks to everyone who has submitted a nomination!

 

Next Tuesday, April 13th, is the SAT for all juniors.  Juniors, make sure to check your email for your room assignment.  Tuesday is a NO School day for everyone else.  Wednesday is a Late Arrival.  

 

Next Tuesday, April 13th, is the outdoor classroom cleanup for Planet Green, Elpida, and Interact members! See the Google Classroom or contact your sponsor for more information!

 

Attention Seniors- The 2021 GBS Scholarship Application is open! Log into your Naviance account for the link to the scholarship application on your homepage (my Survey/Surveys Not Completed). You can work and save as you complete portions, but DO NOT submit until your application is complete! Full scholarship descriptions are on the GBS website under scholarships or on the College and Career and  Career Center/Scholarships.The deadline for submission is Sunday, April 18, 2021 at midnight. Contact the SAO or the College and Career Center if you have any questions.

 

The AP Art Show is back this year and better than ever! On Tuesday, April 20th, the AP Art show will open up for everyone to come and see in-person in the Lyceum! Please stop by to see the beautiful works your AP Art students created this year and social distance your way through the show. The show will be open from Tuesday, April 20th through the end of the day Friday, April 23rd. Thank you for your support!

 

The Spring Play is coming soon! Remember that old tv show called The Twilight Zone about weird stuff that always happens in a small town? We're doing one of those: The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street. The performance is Friday, May 7th, outside in the Courtyard. No experience needed.

 

Attention all students- Club applications for new clubs closed on November 1st and no new club applications are being accepted for the remainder of this school year.  Applications will open again in September for the 2021-2022 school year. In the meantime, please check out the activities page of the GBS website to explore our 120 existing clubs!

CALLIOPE
Calliope is currently working on our second edition “Fabled”! Join us in person or online each wednesday to work on spreads for our final edition of the year. We look forward to seeing you!

CAUSE 4 PAWS
Cause 4 Paws will be holding a donation drive for Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter through Friday, April 23rd! Please consider donating any of the following: newspapers, blankets and comforters, towels, dog bones, treats, balls, cat trees, toys, dog/cat brushes, cat litter, and baking soda. Donations will be collected in the rotunda.

CHINESE CLUB
Chinese Club is on! We meet every Thursday on Zoom at 3:30pm.  Join us for cultural activities and chats. No Chinese language skills are required. Everyone is welcome!

COFFEE CLUB
Are you looking to unwind after a long day of school? Join Coffee Club on Wednesdays at 3:30pm! We meet on Zoom to discuss hot topics over a cup of coffee.

Mark your calendar for next Thursday, April 15th!  All affiliated members are welcome to join us in the Foods Room and then head outside to tie dye our new t-shirts. See you then!

MED CHAPTER

MODEL UN

OUTDOORS CLUB

Paranormal Club meets Wednesdays after school in Room 426 and on Zoom.

PLANET GREEN
Did you know that plastic bags should never go into your recycling bin? Planet Green will collect your clean and dry plastic bags at the GBS front entrance for our Trex challenge where plastic bags can be turned into decks or benches. Next Thursday, April 15th will be our last collection!

SAFE
Hey GBS come to SAFE Club!  We meet on Thursdays at 3:45pm in Room 345 or via Zoom.

SBC (Serbian/Bosnian/Croatian) CLUB

SPORTS

Anyone interested in playing Boys Lacrosse this spring should visit gbslacrosse.com or contact coach Larsen to be added to the boys lacrosse google classroom for information on remaining offseason events, registration and tryouts.

 

Wrestling will begin on Monday, April 19th.  For anyone that’s interested and currently not participating in a sport the wrestling room is open after school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  No experience is needed.  Contact Coach Castillo with any questions.
