The School Counseling program at Glenbrook South is designed to help students learn about themselves, identify their interests, investigate the world of work and take direct action to build lifelong competencies while in high school. High school students are faced with the prospect of numerous and diverse choices in post-secondary planning. In any decision-making process, gathering information is the key step. To achieve these objectives, students and parents are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities and programs throughout a student's four years of high school.

Glenbrook School Health Center (GSHC)

The purpose of a school health center is to provide students and staff members with access to quality medical care that supports their health and keeps them in school. The Glenbrook School Health Center (GSHC) is designed to complement the services offered by the school nurse for students who may need more complex care.

Medical records remain confidential between the patient, family and our operating partner.  Parents may authorize information to be shared with the school by completing a separate consent form available from the GSHC staff.

How to set up/refill account

MySchoolBucks is the payment software system where families can view balances, set up automatics replenishments and receive notifications. These steps allow students the ability to get through the food line quickly. 

• Visit MySchoolBucks website or download the MySchoolBucks App.
• Click "Log In" on the homepage and select "Sign Up Now Today"
• Enter your state and district, then follow the steps to create your account
• If you already have an account, follow the first step and log in.
• Once logged in:
  • Select your name at the top of the homepage and select "My Billing Accounts" from the drop down menu.
  • Click "Add Account" to add funds or choose "Edit" to edit payment information
  • From the homepage, select your name, "My Students" and edit next to the student's name to
    • add a low balance alert so you never miss a payment.

ACH and credit card payments will be charged a processing fee of 3.62%

• Quest urges you to take full advantage of making deposits into your student's accounts on a weekly, monthly, or annual basis. 
• Choose any amount to deposit. 
• Any money that is not spent by the end of the school year will be available the following school year.
• Students may also bring cash or a check and the cashier will add it to their account
• Please make checks payable to “Quest”
• MySchoolBucks gives clients the option to set up “low balance alerts” on student accounts and auto replenish

How to view cafeteria menu

Quest Food Services posts a monthly menu for each school. 

• Visit the Quest Meal Planner website
• Type in the name of the school
• Select either "breakfast" or "lunch" option
• View the meal calendar for the current month

Items in the cafeteria are marked based on the top nine food allergens. The icons guide students, staff and visitors when making safe nutritional choices.

Cafeteria Expectations

According to section 6.50 in the Parent and Student Handbook:

• It is the responsibility of every student to return trays to the proper location and deposit all waste in the trash receptacles.
• Students may not take food or drink out of the cafeteria.
• Students shall follow the instructions of the cafeteria aides and other staff and show proper respect toward all cafeteria personnel.
• Students shall report spills and broken containers to cafeteria staff immediately; 
• Any student referred to the Office of the Dean of Students for throwing food, littering or misconduct will be subject to disciplinary action. 

Quest Choice Meal

In partnership with Quest Food Services, Glenbrook High School District 225 offers an affordable meal option to all students and staff. The “Quest Choice Meal” is offered during breakfast and lunch. Please look for the clearly marked logo on items.

A breakfast “Quest Choice Meal” can be purchased from 7 - 10 a.m. for $4.25. A lunch “Quest Choice Meal” may be purchased from 11 a.m. - 1:36 p.m. for $6.25.

Glenbrook South High School operates on a blue and gold day block schedule divided into four periods.  A, B, and C lunch periods are staggered during the third block. Students have nine-minute passing periods between blocks during their regular schedule.

Glenbrook High School District 225 contracts with Safeway Transportation Services to provide safe, reliable bus transportation to students who purchase an annual bus pass. 

Students are required to present a physical bus pass to the bus driver upon boarding the bus (a digital student ID will not work for this purpose). Bus passes will be issued to students after the first Friday of August.  Students purchasing a bus pass after they have been distributed, can obtain one from the bookstore.

The Glenbrook Peer Group Program was founded in 1974 to help participating students have a positive experience in high school and better cope with the pressures of adolescence. Recognizing the influence of peers on each other and affirming our faith in the abilities of teens to help each other, senior Peer Group leaders meet with underclassmen in small groups. Within these groups, the leaders encourage cooperation, the development of relationships and the exchange of useful information. For most students, the results are a feeling of belonging and acceptance which help support them in their daily lives, in and out of school.
