The countdown to graduation has begun, and we're here to guide the Class of 2023 through the exciting journey. This webpage will ensure you're well-prepared for the big day, from collecting your caps and gowns to attending the Senior Breakfast.

Graduation Preparation

Caps and Gowns

Students have already paid for their cap and gown. If students have not submitted their height and weight, please complete this as soon as possible through the Josten's website. Jostens will assess a late fee which will appear as a shipping fee on the website. Glenbrook South is not able to waive the Jostens fee.

Students may pick up their cap and gown on May 2 or 3 in the Student Activities Office between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Scholar stoles and National Honor Society cords will be in the bag with the student’s cap and gown.

Graduation Tickets

Graduating seniors are allotted five tickets to the ceremony and may pick them up on May 18 in the SAO. Graduates participating in the ceremony do not need a ticket.

Only graduating seniors who present a valid Glenbrook South ID with the student’s photo and ID number clearly visible will be allowed to pick up the tickets. Tickets will be available in the SAO on May 18 at the conclusion of the Honors and Awards Ceremony at 10:40 a.m. through graduation rehearsal. Please do not lose the tickets as they cannot be replaced.

Students must clear up any personal or academic obligations before collecting tickets. Students should check in PowerSchool or with their counselor for outstanding obligations.

The SAO will not have extra tickets. Families may want to check with other graduates or on social media to find tickets.

Graduation Rehearsal

The graduation rehearsal is June 1, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the GBS auditorium. Students must attend the rehearsal to participate in the graduation ceremony - no exceptions.

Senior Breakfast

The breakfast gives students an opportunity to socialize with their classmates before graduation. The breakfast begins immediately after the graduation rehearsal.

Graduation Day

The Class of 2023 graduation ceremony will occur Sunday, June 4, 2023, at the Rosemont Theatre (5400 N. River Rd., Rosemont, IL).

The ceremony begins at 4 p.m.; however, guests must arrive by 3:30 p.m. to be seated before the start of the ceremony. Any guests arriving after 3:30 p.m. will be seated in the balcony after the processional of graduates portion of the ceremony. The ceremony will conclude at approximately 6:30 p.m.

Ceremony

Seniors must be in the theater wearing their cap and gown no later than 3 p.m.

Seniors who have a scholar stole or National Honor Society cord should take photos before arriving. The cords and stoles will be returned to staff members as the graduate leaves the stage.

Professional graduation photos will be taken by GradImages and proofs will be sent to graduates after June 4.

Live stream

Graduation will be live-streamed and a link will be shared with graduates before graduation.

Information for attendees

Everyone who attends the ceremony regardless of age will need a ticket to be admitted to the venue.

Seating

Visitors who need special seating accommodations should arrive early at the theater because seating is first come first served.

No one will be allowed on the main floor of the theater after 3:30 p.m.

Guest arriving after 3:30 p.m. will be seated in the balcony at the conclusion of the processional at the House Manager's discretion.

Cap and Gown Donations

Graduates may donate caps and gowns to underserved schools around the country by bringing them to Glenbrook South and placing them in the box in the front lobby by June 15, 2023. Jostens will take care of the donations.
