Class of 2027

Information sessions will be held for students at each of the Glenview public middle schools. These information sessions will include a detailed explanation of the registration process and an overview of life at GBS. An information session for students who attend a private school will be held at Glenbrook South as shown below.

Information Session Schedule

The following factors are taken into account when making course placement recommendations for incoming freshmen:

• Middle school teacher recommendations
• GBS Instructional Supervisor recommendations
• Current study habits
• Current grades

Eighth grade teachers will collaborate with GBS Instructional Supervisors in order to make placement recommendations. Current grades and study habits will be considered, in addition to test scores and past achievement records. This process ensures that each student is assigned to the appropriate class levels/sections.

Glenbrook South High School makes every effort to correctly identify successful level placements for our incoming students. However, we do recognize that students and parents may occasionally wish to appeal a decision. Students can register online to appeal their level placement in Science, World Language, Mathematics, English and/or Social Studies. A Content Assessment schedule will be included in each student's course recommendation packet.
