Stanton Named Next Instructional Supervisor for P.E., Driver's Education, and Health at GBS
At the regular meeting on Monday, January 23, 2023, the Glenbrook High School District 225 Board of Education approved the appointment of Joshua Stanton as the new Instructional Supervisor for the Physical Education, Health and Driver’s Education Department at Glenbrook South High School.
Staton first joined Glenbrook South in 2013 as a teacher and department assistant within P.E./D.E./Health. During his tenure, he has coached baseball and girls golf and been a leader on various school committees.
Glenbrook South Principal Dr. Barbara Georges said, “Josh has been a valuable member of our team at GBS for the past 10 years, as a teacher, coach and Assistant Instructional Supervisor in Physical Education, Health and Driver’s Education. He has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and a deep understanding of our vision. I am confident that he will continue to drive the success of the P.E., Health, and Driver’s Education Department.”
Staton earned his Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science at Central Iowa University, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction and School Leadership at Concordia University Chicago and Northeastern Illinois University.
“I am excited to continue to work alongside dedicated team members, families and students at Glenbrook South in the pursuit of academic excellence,” Staton said.
Stanton will transition into the new role on July 1, 2023, and replaces Stephen Stanicek who is retiring at the end of the 2022-23 school year.
