Science & Engineering Learning Community

The Science & Engineering Learning Community (SELC) is an integrated program of study for high-achieving Glenbrook South students. Students in the SELC take integrated science and engineering coursework and often pursue a STEM-related field of study and career in their future. The pathway includes four years of science, mathematics, and Project Lead the Way (PLTW) engineering. It culminates in the Capstone course in which students apply all prerequisite coursework to identify, design and create a solution to a real-world engineering problem.

Founded in 2013, SELC prepares the next generation of scientists and engineers with the skills and habits of mind necessary to be collaborative problem solvers in an ever-changing world.
