About Us

Glenbrook South High School School is one of two comprehensive high schools in District 225 and primarily serves the Village of Glenview. Built in 1962, the GBS campus has been expanded and renovated to keep pace with enrollment and to support evolving academic, extracurricular, and athletic programs. Today’s complex is more than 670,000 square feet and spans across 65 acres.

Glenbrook South offers extensive curricular offerings in all core subjects and a wide range of electives, including music, art, drama, applied technology, STEM, business education, radio and television broadcasting, and family and consumer science.

In addition, GBS offers 24 Advanced Placement courses; more than 80 clubs and activities; 30 interscholastic and club sports; American Sign Language, French, German, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish; Science and Engineering Learning Community (SELC), and the Glenbrook Academy of International Studies in English, Social Studies and World Languages.

Most important, Glenbrook South is a vibrant learning community that emphasizes acceptance and inclusion. The climate and culture of the building are based on respect for all students, staff, and visitors. We believe that students’ physical, social, and emotional safety is paramount to maximizing their academic success.
