Do you enjoy creating photography, visual arts, poetry, or prose? If so, be sure to submit to our literary arts magazine, Calliope, at www.gbscalliope.weebly.com. The theme for this semester is “La Vie en Rose,”  meaning “Live in Pink” or life in a state where everything around you is blissful. Hey South! "Let' Glow!" Turnabout 2018 will be on Saturday, March 3rd. Dress is semi-formal (sport coat and tie for guys & semi-formal for girls). Bid price per person is $15 with activity pass; $17 without activity pass; $20 at the door. Bring your friends and have a blast in our “Glow Show”, Photo Booth and Glow in the Dark Interactive Art! 

ACT and SAT help is still available in the TLC! This week marks the middle of our 10-week program.  Stop in for help in all content areas for both tests...raffle prizes are given out each week to those who give it a shot!

Looking for an internship? It’s not too late to get real work experience. Come to an internship matching informational session in the IMC Classroom TODAY, Wednesday, February 21st, during Lunch Block 3. Come learn more and take a step toward your future career.

Have you had a GBS teacher who has had an incredible impact on you? Nominate him or her for the Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award. The Distinguished Teacher award is designed to recognize exceptional educators who generously give their time, share their passions, and change lives. Current teachers who have received this award include Mr. Bryan Cope, Ms. Mary Ann Ericksen, Ms. Danita Fitch, Mr. Tom Henderson, Mr. Ben Hussmann, Mr. John Meyer, Dr. Dan Oswald, Mr. Kurt Webb, Mr. Steve Weissenstein, and Mr. Matt Whipple. Attention Juniors - Are you interested in running for next year’s Student Council Executive Board?  If so, please attend the informational meeting being held NEXT Monday, February 26th, after school, in the SAO.  

“Thingamabobs? I’ve got twenty!” Be part of our world and dive  under the sea by auditioning for the 2018 Glenbrook Musical Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Audition clinic held at GBN NEXT Monday, February 26th, and auditions at GBS NEXT Wednesday, February 28th. There will be a mandatory peer mentor meeting for Semester 1 and 2 mentors NEXT Wednesday, February 28th, during all lunch blocks. Check Google Classroom for info.

Thirty Japanese students are visiting GBS from March 2nd through March 8th. We will have Japanese Activities Night on Wednesday, March 7th, 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at GBS Cafeteria. Please join us for fun culture activities such Japanese dancing, music, sushi making, flower lesson, etc!

Attention Spring Athletes - stop by the Athletics Office for your athletic permit. You need to have an up-to-date physical (done within the last 12 months) in hand or on file with the Athletics Office, in order to obtain the permit. You will need to have a permit for the first day of tryouts for your spring sport!

Baseball season is right around the corner! There will be a baseball tryout informational meeting TODAY, Wednesday, February 21st, at 3:30 pm in the PE Health classrooms. We will discussing the tryout process, the schedule, and other important information that you will need. If you are not able to attend, please see Coach Stanicek in the PE office. 

Care to lax? Come to Boys’ Lacrosse open gym, every MONDAY night in the Fieldhouse from 6:00 pm to 7:45 pm. No experience necessary. See coach Jeffery with questions.

CIRCLE OF FRIENDS
Circle of Friends will be having a Game Night TOMORROW, Thursday, February 22nd, from 3:30 pm-5:00 pm in the SAC. Bring in your favorite game to play!

GARDENING CLUB
Hey, Gardeners - only two and a half months until the average last frost for zone 6! Gardening Club is starting seeds indoors. Stop by Room 362 from 3:30 pm-4:30 pm any Thursday. We’ll be growing strawberries, asparagus, watermelons, and lots of other cool stuff this year.

INTERACT 
Interact will be having an event TOMORROW, Thursday, February 22nd, at NOODLE'S in the Glen. We will be fundraising for the Glenbrook Scholarship Foundation! When you go there and order your food, show them the flyer and take a picture with your meal and we will give you points! See you there!

OUTDOORS CLUB
Do you like rock climbing, hiking, and kayaking? If so, Outdoors Club is the club for you! Our first field trip will be on March 9th, after school from 3:45 pm-8:00 pm. We will be climbing at Vertical Endeavors, the largest indoor climbing facility in Illinois. Pick up your permission slip in the SAO today! You can pay your $10 fee to the bookstore starting Monday, February 26th. Any questions see Ms. O'Toole in Social Studies or Mrs. Ethington in the PE department. 

RUSSIAN CLUB
