V-Show tickets are now on sale!  Get yours, before they sell out!  Tickets may be purchased by visiting our online ticketing website or by calling ShowTix4U directly at 1.866.967.8167.   Please search Variety Show on the GBS website for additional information.

Attention Freshmen and Sophomores- Freshmen and Sophomores are required to report to the Lyceum TODAY, Wednesday, January 23rd and TOMORROW, Thursday, January 24th, for an Information Session regarding how to register for next year's classes.  Please report to the Lyceum at the beginning of your SRT, Lunch, Guided Study, Transitional Study, Resource or ELL Study Support. These sessions will last approximately 20 minutes and will be held the first 20 minutes of every block including every lunch block. Check your email for more details!  Be sure to bring your Chromebook!

Attention Seniors-  Consider applying for GBS’ Senior Project!  Come to the Library Classroom TODAY, Wednesday, January 23rd, during any of the lunch blocks to learn more about Senior Project and how you can finish your time at GBS working on a project that is meaningful to you.  

Attention Juniors- Junior College Exploration Groups will take place in the Lyceum during the first 45 minutes of each block THIS Friday, January 25th (Blue Day) and NEXT Monday, January 28th (Gold Day). All Juniors are required to attend one of the College Groups. You will go directly to the Lyceum.  Please be sure to bring your Chromebook.  See your email or counselor for more information.

Anyone who is considering Oakton Community College this Fall should plan to attend the Oakton Application Workshop on Tuesday, February 12th in the College and Career Center during Block 3 from 11:15 until 1:35. Lunch will be provided to participating students. An admissions representative from Oakton will be available to assist students through the application process and advise you about scholarship opportunities. If you have a Social Security number, please bring it with you on the 12th. Interested students must sign up for the workshop in the College and Career Center or through the school messenger email. See Mrs. Swanson in the College and Career Center or your counselor if you have any questions.

Attention All Students- Ever wonder what career you will take on as an adult?  Ever wonder how a food scientist, an engineer, or a physical therapist ended up choosing their career?  Well, GBS Connects Career Day will definitely help you out!  Check your school email today and follow the directions to register for sessions you would like to attend.  Speakers will fill up fast, so be the first to register.  The event will take place on Wednesday, March 13th.

Attention Seniors-  If any of your colleges require a Midyear Transcript or ask to see your 7th semester grades, you must complete a Midyear Transcript Request form available in the College and Career Center. Check the Common App Requirement Grid or the individual college website to learn which colleges require a Midyear Report. Turn in completed forms to the College and Career Center. We expect that 7th semester transcripts will be ready to submit by the end of January. If you have any questions, see your counselor or Mrs. Swanson in the College and Career Center.

WGBK will be taking a two week break due to final exams.  The station will be back in action NEXT Monday, January 28th.

Attention all students-  Would you like to host a Japanese high school student from March 2nd through March 8th?  Please contact Mrs. Makita in the World Language Department for more information. 

Attention Seniors-  If you still have not given your cap and gown measurement information to Jostens, be sure to do that! The info was due back in September.  Go to the Jostens website at www.jostens.com find the “cap and gown” option for zero dollars and provide your name and measurement information.  You will be assessed a $10 late fee.  Questions?  See the senior page on the GBS website or stop by the SAO.

Can’t get enough of the North-South hockey game?  Come to the Northbrook Sports Complex TONIGHT, Wednesday, January 23rd, at 7:25 to catch the rematch~  or listen live at tinyurl.com/southhockey!

Girls Hockey is hosting their charity game benefiting cancer research, THIS Sunday, January 27th, at 6:00pm.  Come out to the Northbrook Sports Complex for a good cause!

Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Wrestling team on a great performance at the CSL conference tournament last weekend! Nine wrestlers placed in the top 6 of their weight class with 2 wrestlers being conference champs!   KP Santos won the 106 lbs weight class and Will Collins won the 138 lbs weight class.  Also placing in the top 4 in their weight class were: Forrest Eriksson, Cam Mecer, and Matt Rubel.

Congratulations to the Varsity Titan Poms for advancing to the IHSA state contest!  The girls will compete this weekend against the top teams in the state! Way to go ladies!

JAPANESE CLUB
Japanese Club is meeting TODAY, Wednesday, January 23rd, after school.  Please stop by Room  400.  New members are always welcome!  No language skills are necessary.

MODEL UN
Due to yesterday’s weather, our morning meeting is moved to TOMORROW, Thursday, January 24th, at 7:15am in the Library classroom.  Come for fun activities and important information.  New members are always welcome.  

PARANORMAL CLUB
Paranormal Club meets TODAY, Wednesday, January 23rd, after school in Room 426.

PING PONG
Ping Pong Club members who are planning to attend the Niles West competition, must submit their permission slip to Mr. Macfadden in Room 182, by the end of the day TOMORROW, Thursday, January 24th.

WATER 1st Club
If you want to make a difference in the lives of people around the world who don't have access to clean water, come to the Water1st Club meeting, TOMORROW, Thursday, January 24th, at 7:30 am in Room 401. As always, donuts will be served. New members are always welcome.
