Attention all students and faculty- The Fitness Center will be closed through NEXT Monday, January 20th, due to construction in the room.  It will reopen NEXT Tuesday, January 21st.  

Attention Freshmen- Do you want to be a part of the Variety Show Freshman Act?  No audition or sign-up is required for you to be a part of the 2020 Variety Show EN ROUTE. If you were unable to come to last week’s all cast meeting, be sure to come to our first meeting/rehearsal NEXT, Tuesday, January 21st, after school, in the Auditorium.  If you have questions, see Ms. Kiraly in the CTE Office. All are welcome, so bring your friends and be part of one of the best traditions at GBS!

Seniors- Are you interested in directing your own One Act? Then be sure to fill out an application by NEXT Tuesday, January 21st.  Applications are on the Drama board or see Ms. Stickels in Special Education. 

Attention Juniors- Junior College Groups will take place in the Lyceum during the first 45 minutes of each block NEXT Wednesday, January 22nd and Thursday, January 23rd.  All Juniors are required to attend a group.  
    •     Go directly to the Lyceum during your SRT

    •     No SRT?  Then please report during your Resource, Study Skills, Guided Study,   

 Transitional Skills, or ELL Study Support 
    •     Please bring your charged Chromebook.  

    •    Students with Late Arrival or Early Release should report to the Lyceum at 8:00am or at 1:45pm.

If none of the above options apply to you, please attend during your PE class.  Please note that the Block 3 presentation will be given during 3A beginning at 11:20am.  Please see your counselor or come to the College and Career Center if you have any questions.

Permits are now available for second semester Drivers Ed. Stop by the Driver Ed Office to pick yours up!


History Club’s next meeting is NEXT Thursday, January 23rd.

The Jewish Student Union will have its first meeting of the second semester after school, NEXT Wednesday, January 22nd.  All are invited!

Congratulations to the varsity wrestling team on their win against Niles West (59-9) last week.  Last week’s win put the varsity wrestling team with 19 wins, surpassing the old school record of 18 wins set in 1990.

Do you have gently used basketballs that you would like to donate? Come support the Titan Girls and Boys Basketball programs TONIGHT, Friday, January 17th (Girls at 5pm and the Boys at 7pm), as they take on New Trier.   The donated basketballs will be given to the James Jordan Boys and Girls Club of Chicago’s West Side.  Please drop off a new or gently used basketball of any type this Friday when you come to see the Titans play.  Thank you for your support!

Attention all Boys and Girls Track & Field Athletes-  Practices start NEXT Tuesday, January 21st.  Please make sure that you are registered in PowerSchool and that you have an updated physical on file with the Athletic Office.  Please see Coach Hasenstein or Coach Zapler if you have any questions.  

Girls Water Polo open pool continues on Fridays from 6:00-7:00am.  Everyone is welcome.  See Coach Stancik in Science for more information.
