Mr. Bertke recognized as Outstanding Educator

French teacher and instructional coach, Mr. Matt Bertke, was recently selected as a University of Chicago Outstanding Educator Award winner.

He was nominated by a former student who wrote that Mr. Bertke's French class "was a window to a new world – a gateway to better understand(ing) entire groups of people."

"You taught me to appreciate my education and what it could be used for; you completely changed the way I approach learning," the student wrote in her nomination letter.

Each year, the University of Chicago gives newly admitted students the opportunity to recognize educators who have made a difference in their lives.
