The GBS Interact Club spent Sept. 8 and 15 volunteering in the community. Each year, the club participates in a national event known as the Community Paint a Thon.
About 20 junior and senior students helped out an Arlington Heights resident who applied for assistance through the Suburban Volunteer Center. They painted a shed in the backyard, as well as the entire exterior of the home. It took about 12 hours to complete.
The program is sponsored by Habitat for Humanity and private businesses.
