Casey Wright is the new Associate Principal of Administrative Services at GBS. He recently completed his 10th year as an Assistant Principal at Highland Park High School. He began his education career more than 20 years ago at Rolling Meadows High School where he taught social studies, coached boys’ basketball and girls’ track, and was nominated for a Golden Apple Award.
This summer, the Public Relations Office sat down with Mr. Wright to ask him a few questions about his new role.
PR: What led you into this new role?
Casey: I was motivated by the desire to be part of the Titan family and GBS administrative team. I’m excited to take on new challenges, and am looking forward to new opportunities to learn and grow together.
PR: How would you describe Titan culture here at GBS?
Casey: There’s passion for learning, relationships and amazing school spirit. Already, I can see that in the students, staff and parents that I've met. There’s a sense of family and community. It's so good to be here.
PR: How will your past experiences help you succeed in this new role?
Casey: Each school year, we get to push the “restart button” and come into the classroom and building with a fresh perspective. This switch feels similar to me. I’m open to learning, meeting new people, developing strong connections with students, staff and parents, and serving others to help them do their best work.
PR: What do you like to do for fun?
Casey: Spending time with my family: my daughter, Ainsley (7); my son, Camden (11); and my wife, Sandra, who teaches AP Economics at Stevenson High School. Anything we do as a family is what’s fun for me right now. We love family adventures – traveling, taking walks, reading together, enjoying the theatre, playing sports, etc. That’s what brings joy and balance in my life.
PR: What are some major goals you have for the GBS Administrative Services Office?
Casey: I want to take the time to learn from students, staff and parents – gather information, build strong relationships, and work together to determine the best next steps for our school with a collaborative process and positive outcomes.
