Glenbrook South is pleased to announce the availability of the parking permit application for the 2021-22 school year. Seniors and juniors can purchase a permit for $300, subject to availability. Please note that completing a parking permit application is not a guarantee that your student will receive a parking permit.
To support our families in learning more about parking permits for the 2021-22 school year, we have compiled a series of frequently asked questions.
Who is eligible for a parking permit?
Due to a limited number of parking spaces, not all students who complete an application will receive a parking permit. Only seniors and juniors are eligible to apply for a parking permit. The following procedures will be followed for allocating parking permits:
How do I apply for a parking permit?
- All seniors who complete the parking permit application no later than Friday, May 14, 2021, will receive a parking permit. The Deans’ Office will send an email to the student and their parents/guardians confirming that they are approved for a parking permit.
- All juniors who complete the parking permit application no later than Friday, May 14, 2021, will have their names placed in a lottery. At the beginning of June, student names will be randomly selected from the lottery until all parking permits have been assigned.
- If selected, after the completion of the June lottery, the Deans’ Office will send an email to the student and their parents/guardians confirming that they will receive a parking permit after their application has been approved.
- Students who do not receive a permit will need to plan accordingly.
To apply for a parking permit, navigate to the PowerSchool Parent Portal, select Forms,
followed by 2021-22 Parking Permit Application
. Please note that only parents can complete the parking permit application, and completion of a parking permit application is not a guarantee that your student will receive a parking permit.
How much will the parking permit cost?
Parking permits cost $300. Permits may only be purchased for the entire school year, and prorated refunds will only be issued if a student graduates early or moves out of the school district.
How do I pay for the parking permit?
A parking permit fee will be added to your student’s financial account after an application is reviewed and approved by the Deans’ Office. An email will be sent to families letting them know that the fee is now available for payment through the online payment portal. Please note that parking permits will not
be issued if students have outstanding obligations on their student financial account.
How will I receive my parking permit?
Both schools will utilize window stickers that will need to be applied to the windshield of the vehicle listed on the parking permit application. At the beginning of August, both schools will send to students and their parents/guardians instructions regarding how to pick up their parking permits.
